As its name suggests, eyeliner is a line that can be used to rework the eye line, highlight it and even change its slant. You can create an almond-shaped look with a simple stroke of liner, or on the contrary, go for a porcelain doll look: open and innocent.
Often considered a difficult product to master, eyeliner is easier to apply today, as brands offer better brushes and textures. That said, whatever the recipe, eyeliner still requires a certain technical skill.
To begin with, it's applied to bare skin, without powder, without anything. Then, it's always from the outside in. It can be worked widthwise, or even with beveled brushes, powder on top, whatever. But basically, stretch your eyelid, take a deep breath, and draw slowly. There's a tendency to tremble with eyeliner when you're not confident, whereas it's much easier than you think.
And if you make a little mistake? Don't panic: simply dip a cotton bud in thermal water, and gently repeat the stroke.
The hardest part is getting started, finding a shade and brand you like. Then you play around. That's what make-up is all about.
